Coins are StrangerLine's in-app currency. They pay for longer sessions once your free matches are used, and they are only ever added by you, through a top-up. Free matches and the Reward Center come first, coins after, and a notice on screen always tells you before coins start being used.

  • Used after free matches
  • Only added by you
  • Notice before use
  • Balance always visible

What are StrangerLine coins used for?

Coins pay for longer chats after your free matches are used. In practice, that means you can keep talking past the free part of a session, in text, voice or video, as long as your balance covers it.

Think of coins as tokens that only work inside StrangerLine. They are not money, they cannot be sent to other people, and nobody you chat with can ask you to buy them for them. If a stranger ever does, that is a scam: report it.

How do coins fit with free matches and the Reward Center?

Free always comes first. Every account opens with free matches. Stay online and the Reward Center, pinned over the match button, hands out top-ups at intervals. Coins enter the picture after that, and not before.

Plenty of people live mostly on free matches and buy coins only for the rare chat they cannot bear to cut short. Nothing wrong with using it that way. More on the free side is on Is StrangerLine free?.

What does a typical evening with free matches and coins look like?

Say you open StrangerLine after dinner. You claim what the Reward Center has for you, then try a few matches in text and voice. Two are quick hellos, one is a lovely half-hour about travel. None of that has cost anything.

Later, a video match goes so well you lose track of time, and the notice appears that the free part is ending. That is the moment people decide whether coins are worth it. Some top up and keep talking. Others say goodnight and come back tomorrow, when the Reward Center has more free matches. Both are completely fine.

How do you keep coin spending under control?

A few simple habits:

  • Decide on a monthly amount before you top up, and stick to it.
  • Use free matches and Reward Center claims for quick chats; keep coins for conversations you really want to continue.
  • Check your balance before and after a long chat.
  • Never buy coins because a stranger asked you to. That is a scam pattern, and it should be reported.

How do you buy coins?

From the coins section inside StrangerLine.

  1. Open your balance

Your coin balance is shown in the app. Tap it to see the top-up options.

  2. Pick a pack

The price of each pack is shown before you pay.

  3. Pay through the checkout

Payments are handled by our payment provider. Your full card number never reaches StrangerLine.

  4. Coins appear in your balance

Usually right away. If they do not, email support with the time of purchase.

How do you know when coins are being used?

A notice appears on the call screen before a session starts using coins. If you do not want to spend, you can end the chat or tap Find another at that point and nothing is charged.

Your balance stays visible, so you can check how many coins you have before and after any chat.

What if something goes wrong with a payment?

Write to [email protected] with when you paid, how much, and the way you sign in. A person will look into it. For billing disputes, please contact us before your bank so we can fix it faster.

StrangerLine staff will never ask for your password or card number by chat or email.
