What is a voice chat with a stranger on StrangerLine?

It is a live audio call between you and one person you have never met, picked at random from everyone who chose voice at that moment. Think of a phone call without phone numbers. You pick voice before the match, your browser asks once for microphone access, and the stranger voice chat begins as soon as someone is found.

There is no video in this mode at all, not even a blurred one. The other person hears what your mic picks up and nothing else. That is the whole point: a real voice, a real laugh, and your face stays your own business.

How do you make a voice chat sound good?

If what you need is to say something heavy out loud, the vent to someone page has a few habits that make it easier. Headphones fix most problems. Without them, your speaker can feed the other person's voice back into your mic and they hear an echo of themselves. Wired or wireless both work.
