StrangerLine / Community Guidelines
Last updated October 1, 2026Community Guidelines
StrangerLine works because two strangers trust each other enough to say hello. These guidelines protect that trust. They apply in every mode, every match.
Be decent
- Be the stranger you would hope to meet.
- No harassment, threats or slurs, and no attacks on who someone is: their origin, faith, gender, sexuality or disability.
- Disagree if you like. Do not bully.
Keep it consensual
- No nudity or sexual content pushed on a person who did not plainly say yes.
- Never show or share sexual content involving anyone under 18. Such cases are passed straight to law enforcement.
- Do not pressure anyone to turn on a camera, show something or keep talking.
Respect privacy
- Do not ask for or share someone else's personal details: names, numbers, addresses, socials.
- Do not record, screenshot or stream other users without their permission.
- Do not try to find out who someone is offline.
Adults only
StrangerLine is for adults. If the person on the other end seems younger than 18, end the chat and send a report.
No scams or selling
- Do not ask anyone for money, gift cards, crypto or coins.
- No advertising, links to other services or attempts to move people elsewhere for profit.
- No bots or automated accounts.
How reports are handled
The report button is part of every chat screen. Moderators review reports and may warn, restrict or remove people who break these guidelines. Deliberately false reports also break the rules.
Something urgent that the report button does not cover? Email [email protected].
